Post-Bariatric Tummy Tucks in Oak Brook
Helping Get Your Ideal Figure after Significant Weight Loss
It is a wonderful thing to successfully lose any amount of weight. Whether through diet and exercise or bariatric surgery, a great deal of weight loss is certain to change your body, and your life, significantly. Unfortunately, while this is an incredible accomplishment, patients frequently find that the work is not over. Following dramatic weight loss, it is extremely common for patients to have excess skin and tissue around their midsection, causing continued insecurities about their bodies.
Our Oak Brook plastic surgery experts are here to help. At Aespala Medspa & Plastic Surgery, we have years of experience helping patients just like you make that final adjustment to get the body contours you have always wanted.
A Look at the Procedure
A post-bariatric tummy tuck, also called a panniculectomy, removes the fat, soft tissues, and skin (collectively referred to as the “pannus”) that hangs down over the pubic area. The procedure differs somewhat from a traditional tummy tuck in that it is targeted much more specifically to the area between the belly button and the pubic bone.
How do I know if I am a good candidate for a panniculectomy?
- You have lost a significant amount of weight
- You have unwanted excess skin, fat, and tissue hanging below the beltline
- Your weight has remained stable for the past 6 months or so
- You are in overall good health
- If you had a gastric bypass surgery, it was more than a year ago
- Issues such as high blood pressure or diabetes are under control
